This Privacy Policy describes how ShiftTracker ("the app"), developed by Oleksandr Marchenko ("the developer", "I"), handles your information. ShiftTracker is a shift schedule calendar for people with rotating work schedules.

The core principle: your schedule belongs to you. ShiftTracker works fully offline, has no accounts or sign-up, and the developer never has access to your shifts, patterns, notes, or earnings data.

1. Information stored on your device

Everything you create in the app — shift types, rotation patterns, calendar day changes, notes, actual work times, hourly rates and reminder settings — is stored only in a local database on your device. It is never sent to the developer — ShiftTracker has no servers — and the developer cannot see it. If you use the CSV or ICS export feature, the file is generated locally and shared only with the app you explicitly choose.

Google Drive backup (optional, ShiftTracker Pro). If you turn it on, the app saves a copy of this data — shift types, rotation patterns, calendar day changes, notes, actual work times, hourly rates and reminder settings — to your own Google Drive, manually or automatically once a day, so you can restore it on a new phone. The copy is kept in the app's private, hidden folder in your Google Drive: the app gets access only to that folder, not to your other files. It goes straight from your device to your Google account over an encrypted connection; the developer never receives it and cannot see it.

2. Usage analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used (as anonymous event names, counts and flags — for example, "a pattern was created"). The content of your data — names, notes, rates, times — is never included in analytics events. If you buy ShiftTracker Pro, analytics also records the purchase itself: which option you chose (monthly, yearly or lifetime), whether it started with a free trial, and which Pro feature opened the purchase screen. Payment details never reach the app or the developer — payments are processed entirely by Google Play. Firebase may collect device identifiers, approximate device characteristics (model, OS version, language) and general usage statistics. The app also uses Firebase Remote Config, which lets the developer adjust a few settings without an app update (for example, what the "Rate the app" button opens); it relies on an anonymous Firebase installation identifier.

Advertising measurement. The developer promotes ShiftTracker with Google Ads. To measure how well these ads work, Firebase Analytics sends two events to the developer's own Google Ads account: completing the first schedule setup (saving the first rotation pattern) and buying ShiftTracker Pro. If you install the app by tapping one of these ads, Google Play also passes on an ad click identifier, so that Google Ads can count the installation for that campaign. This data is used only to measure the developer's own advertising campaigns. The app shows no ads and does not use the Android advertising ID. Analytics data is not used for ad personalization or remarketing.

3. Diagnostics

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring to collect crash reports and performance metrics: device model, OS version, stack traces and timings. These reports do not include the content of your schedule. They help the developer find and fix bugs.

4. Notifications

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, which may register an anonymous device token. Shift reminders themselves are scheduled locally on your device and do not involve any server.

5. Data sharing

The developer does not sell, rent or share your data with anyone. The only third party processing the technical data described above is Google (Firebase, Google Play services and Google Ads, which receives data only to measure the developer's own advertising campaigns), under Google's own privacy policies:

Purchases of ShiftTracker Pro are made through Google Play under Google Play's terms; the app only receives a confirmation of what you bought. If you use the optional Google Drive backup, the copy is stored in your own Google account under Google's terms.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your schedule data lives only on your device: deleting the app (or clearing its data in system settings) permanently deletes it. A Google Drive backup, if you made one, stays in your Google Drive until you delete it: in Google Drive on the web, open Settings → Manage apps → ShiftTracker → Options → Delete hidden app data. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for limited periods under Firebase policies. To request deletion of diagnostics data associated with your device, contact me at the email below.

Ignore battery optimizations (optional) — you may grant it so reminders are not delayed by aggressive battery savers; the app works without it.
Full-screen notifications — so a shift reminder can appear over the lock screen like an alarm.
Google Play billing — to buy ShiftTracker Pro.

8. Children's privacy

ShiftTracker is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If the policy changes (for example, when new features are added), the updated version will be published at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
